A retail merchant account is a merchant account that is setup under the assumption that the merchant is going to swipe at least 80% of their total credit card transactions through a credit card terminal, or other credit card processing device. In order to qualify for a retail merchant account the merchant must have their customers present at least 80% of the time so you can physically swipe the credit card.
